East High Students and families,
I need to inform you of some sad news. One of our security guards, Abe Northcutt, died unexpectedly. This news comes as a shock to the East High Family, Abe has been a pillar of this school for many years. He was a proud East High Alum and loved working at his alma mater. He was frequently seen in the GO ZONE, the parking lot, and B-Building. Abe will be missed terribly, and I know this will have an impact on all of us. There will be additional counselors in the building tomorrow for students and staff as needed.

He was always so nice and I loved watching him interact with the kids he would joke around with them and relate to them. He was at most of the football games and would cheer on those kids and offer encouragement after a bad game or congratulations after a good. I as well as my son are sad to hear of his passing. His family and friends are in my thoughts. ~ Elizabeth B Gunneson

Abe touched the lives of many. As a 2015 graduate to hear this news is hard to believe and saddening. He was a great person and truly cared for the students he served at East High. Fly High Abe, you are truly missed. ~ Shacora Indescribable Logwood

Today was one of the worst in my career. Abe Northcutt – security at East was a true Blue Ace in character, service & leadership to the students, staff & East High Community. I have no words to express the devastating loss and sadness we are experiencing.
